How we vet listings
Local Vendors is an independent directory. We don’t sell placement and listings aren’t paid — our job is simply to help you find a provider you can trust.
What we check
Every published listing is screened on a few practical signals:
LicensingWe surface licensed, locally-operating providers and flag generic or out-of-area entries for review.
ReviewsWe pull each listing’s rating and review count so you can weigh real reputation, not marketing.
Specialty fitWe capture services and specialties so you can match the job to the right provider.
FreshnessRatings and details refresh automatically, so what you see reflects current standing — not a stale snapshot.
What we remove
We continuously de-duplicate listings, retire entries that don’t fit the directory, and pull ratings that don’t cleanly match a single verified business. When in doubt, we’d rather show no rating than a wrong one.
What we don’t do
We don’t accept payment for ranking, we don’t generate fake reviews, and we don’t scrape or resell photos. Business photos and maps come from Google and are attributed accordingly.
